Etsy Melbourne Street Team
Terms & Conditions
When you apply to be a stallholder at an Etsy Melbourne Street Team event, you are agreeing to these Terms & Conditions. It is important you read and understand the terms. If you have any questions, reach out to us at email@example.com, we are here to assist.
Acceptance of applications
Acceptance of applications is at the discretion of the Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee, and all decisions are final. Applications are reviewed and assessed against a variety of criteria to ensure a wide range of products are available for market visitors.
Stallholders are not permitted to on-sell, sub-lease or give away their stall. If someone shows up in your place without prior approval, they will be refused entry.
Public liability insurance to $10M is included your stall fees. There are no discounts on the fee, even if you have your own insurance already. In the event of an insurance claim, the stallholder is responsible for paying any excess and associated costs. While Public Liability insurance is included, we highly recommend you have your own insurance cover.
Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee will not be held liable for loss, theft or damage to your stock on the day. You are responsible for supervising your stand at all times.
Product Liability Insurance
If you sell or offer cosmetics, food or consumables at the market, including free, raising money for charity, or offering samples or testers, you must provide a copy of your current Product Liability insurance. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of your application. It is strongly encouraged that Product Liability insurance should be obtained by other stallholders also.
All stallholders must follow instructions from any Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee member received before, or on the market day. Instructions for bump-in, bump-out and parking will be provided by email in advance of the market day.
If you sell out before the end of the market, you cannot pack up early, as this presents a hazard to customers and stallholders. You may put a sign on your stall indicating you have sold out and leave your stall, however you must remain at the market site.
Sometimes last minute changes to stall locations are required on market day and you must follow instructions made by the Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee.
Each market venue has different rules based on whether it is indoors, outdoors, heritage listed, or other reasons. Additional instructions may be provided by the Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee and must be adhered to.
Bump-in and bump-out
Bump-in and bump-out times must be strictly adhered to. Instructions will be provided for the specific event you are attending. Late-comers may be refused entry. Your stall must be completely packed up and area vacated, including any waste or rubbish, by the time specified for the event. Failure to do so may result in additional fees and charges from the venue, and other associated costs, being passed on to the stallholder.
All stallholders must make payment by the due date on the invoice. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of the application.
Refunds and cancellations
If you wish to cancel your application, notification must be made in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org. Any cancellations within 72 hours of market day must also be notified by SMS or phone to the number provided by the Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee for the event.
A full refund will be provided if cancellation is received at least 60 days prior to market day. 50% refund will be provided if cancellation is received between 60 - 30 days prior to market day. Any cancellation received within 30 days of market day is not eligible for a refund.
Stall set-up and displays
Etsy Melbourne Street Team presents a professional, friendly, safe and fun environment for stallholders and customers. Your stall, including all displays and signage, must be completely contained within the site allocated to you, and must not interfere with other stallholders’ space or the organiser’s areas. Stalls must well-presented, tidy, and fit in with the theme of the event at all times.
It is the stallholder’s responsibility to bring all equipment to set up for the day in your allocated area. For indoor events remember to include items like tables, chairs, tablecloths, garment racks. For outdoor areas remember to also bring a marquee or market umbrella & stand (unless you are in an undercover area), plastic sheets to protect your stall in case of rain, and ensure your marquee/umbrella and set-up is weighed down and secure in case of wind. For marquees and umbrellas, ensure you refer to manufacturer’s standards for weights. For some events, there may be an option to hire some or all of these items for an additional cost - refer to the application form for the event.
Items cannot be displayed on the ground (some exceptions apply eg if you are selling floor-lamps or sculptures that wouldn’t go on a table or garment rack).
Remember to bring items your customers will expect, including carry bags, a float of change for the day, business cards so they can find you online. We highly recommend you have capacity to take electronic transactions, many people don't take cash with them these days. Square and PayPal are popular options, your bank may have POS systems available too.
Ensure you price your items clearly.
We will do our best to meet any special requests, this is on a best endeavours basis and can’t be guaranteed.
Stallholders may only sell products made or designed by the stallholder or represented collective, or are vintage, or are craft supplies, and have been represented on the application, and approved by the Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee. The items must not infringe on anyone else’s intellectual property. Any products you wish to sell that were not listed on the application must be approved prior to selling at the market.
Marketing and Publicity
You agree that images of your products can be used by Etsy Melbourne Street Team to promote your attendance at the event. We may ask you to supply a high-res version of images. You must ensure that you own the copyright for these images before supplying them to us.
Safety is the responsibility of all stallholders, and we take safety very seriously. Your stall must be set up, maintained and packed down in a safe manner, including during bump-in and bump-out.
If you identify a safety hazard, isolate the risk immediately if it is safe to do so, call 000 if required, and notify a Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee member as soon as is practicable.
We encourage stallholders to minimise the amount of packaging used where possible, and use sustainably sourced, biodegradable or reusable packaging.
Power & gas equipment
Unless written consent is provided by the Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee, no power, gas or similar equipment may be used at the market.
Code of conduct
Bullying and harassment of any person involved in the market, including stallholders, visitors and Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee members, is not tolerated.
Stallholders must follow instructions provided by the Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee at all times. Failure to do so may result in a stallholder forfeiting their stall and being asked to leave as soon as is practicable.
Stallholders are responsible for removal of any waste and packaging brought with them. Waste must not be placed in the rubbish bins and skips at the market.
Adverse weather conditions
The market operates in all weather conditions and stallholders must be prepared for adverse weather. Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever due to adverse conditions. The market may be closed at the discretion of the Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee due to adverse weather conditions; no refund is available for cancellation or closure due to adverse conditions.
Event cancellation policy
If the event is cancelled by a venue, authority or event or outside of the Etsy Melbourne Street Team Committee’s control, no refunds will be given.
